The Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 (BCDI 2030) offer a transformative opportunity for international students, researchers, and academic staff to pursue higher education and research in Canada. Funded by Global Affairs Canada, this eight-year initiative (2022-2030) is tailored to the needs of partner countries and focuses on key priority areas in line with the United Nationsâ Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to reduce inequalities and foster socio-economic development.
This comprehensive programme supports a wide range of academic pathwaysâfrom vocational and technical training to full degree courses, including Bachelorâs, Masterâs, and PhD programmes, as well as research projects and short-term academic sessions such as summer and winter schools. The goal is to build skills, knowledge, and experience that empower participants to become agents of change in their communities.
Approximately 600 scholars from 26 eligible countries will be selected each year, with special emphasis on ensuring that at least 51% of the awardees are women. By studying in Canada, scholars benefit from world-class education, access to cutting-edge research facilities, and the chance to engage in global teamwork with leading Canadian institutions.
The BCDI 2030 programme not only aims to enhance access to quality education for individuals from partner countries but also strengthens the social and economic development of these nations by equipping scholars with the expertise necessary for sustainable growth.
