Swansea University announces a Fully Funded PhD Scholarship in Mechanical Engineering in the UK. The objectives of the grant project will be summarized as follows:
Perform basic research into human processes for assembling and disassembling oddly shaped objects using hands and arms.
Use the knowledge obtained in the achievement of objective 1, in order to plan, test, and learn to come up with adaptive strategies related to the example assembly and disassembly.
Use the UR3E/UR5E robots and DLR-HIT II robot hands available in the Robotics Lab to build the infrastructure needed to implement the strategies developed in objective (2) in handling complex assembly and disassembly tasks.
