Based on the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation's belief in the importance of supporting and encouraging scientific research in Jordanian universities, institutions and scientific and research centers, and in order to consolidate the Foundation's goals within the leadership pillar, it established the Abdul Hameed Shoman Fund to support scientific research in 1999. From 2000 to 2023, the Fund provided more than JD 1,600,000 in direct support, and motivated our partners from academic and scientific institutions to provide more than a quarter million JD to support scientific research in Jordan. This support was directed to 140 research projects from 22 Jordanian universities and research institutions, resulting in the publication of 175 scientific papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals in the following fields Medical and health sciences, engineering sciences, environmental and agricultural sciences, basic sciences, social and economic sciences and humanities, and information technology and digital economy. Through the fund, the Shoman Foundation seeks to support research that systematically analyzes society's issues, basic needs, and economic, social, educational, cultural, environmental and health aspirations, which brings scientific and technical institutions closer to the surrounding communities, and contributes to promoting comprehensive development strategies and facilitating Jordanian society's communication with advanced societies. The Abdul Hameed Shoman Fund also aims to support researchers and provide them with the necessary tools to access new spaces of science and experience, and to emphasize the role of research centers and universities as platforms for disseminating knowledge, stimulating innovation and finding solutions to local challenges for a sustainable and promising future.
